The Triquetra is an ancient symbol that looks like three interconnected arcs with closed outer points. It may have developed as early as 500 BC, and similar forms are found in ancient Celtic and Norse artifacts. For early Christians, the triquetra symbolized the idea of the Trinity - God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
